Frances Lozada is a dynamic, multi-faceted artist seamlessly bridging the worlds of acting, producing, directing, and dance. Being born and raised in New York City with a deep-rooted Puerto Rican Culture enriched with many life experiences and traditions  brings an authentic voice to the forefront of her work. Her passion guides and inspired her artistry as she continues to expand the boundaries of her craft. 

Frances began her career on the stage as a Mambo and Salsa dancer. Her rhythmic artistry and stage presence captured audiences across the Tri-State area, leading to noteworthy collaborations, including opening for the legendary Wynton Marsalis at the House of Tribes in New York City.

Driven by a desire to explore deeper human narratives, Frances transitioned from dance into the world of theater and independent film. She refined her craft performing with the Medicine Women Group in Harlem, which laid the foundation for more vibrant collaborations.

Audiences have seen her compelling performances in acclaimed independent features like The Garden Left Behind, Fists of Love and Gang Girl, as well as guest appearances on hit network television series such as CBS’s Blue Bloods. In her most acclaimed piece of work was when she played Julia De Burgos, one of the most iconic and influential poets, journalists and civil rights activists from Puerto Rico. Her stellar performance of the icon, landed her a Best Actress nomination at the Hispanic Organization of Latin Arts (HOLA) in 2023.

Whether it is in front or behind the camera, Frances is a visionary creator dedicated to championing diverse, impactful stories. Leveraging her background in marketing from St. John's University, she takes creative risks in making bold thought provoking cinema. She has assisted and managed and co produced several indie films as 36 Saints, Forbidden Tango, Fists of Love , and  The Garden Left Behind.  She has worked alongside a wide array of talented writer and directors, gaining profound, insightful knowledge of the filmmaking process.

She has written and directed several short films experimenting with her own film work. Films like Letting Go, A Cry  Within, SteroTYPEd, A Life Not Lived and her recent short film Anxiety.

Currently she is in development and preparing and raising money within her community  to direct her first feature film Saint Prayer which is a story about a violent tragedy that separates a family,  but through their love and faith are reconnected again. Frances takes creative risks to open up new boundaries and perspectives. She wants to break the standard norms and stereotypes of Latino characters portrayed  in film and television focusing instead on creating positive, unique, and multi-dimensional figures on screen. 

Frances has also recognized the power of Cinema and it's pathway to advocate for issues like Domestic Violence, Mental Health, Addiction and Suicide and many other issues fracturing families. Frances is a true believer that where there is trauma, beauty can still be found and she explores that in all of her work. She knows collaboration is genius and a key to help bringing awareness and healing. Frances is looking to connect and create partnerships with organizations dedicated to supporting mental wellness, fostering love, and healing communities.
